School-year engagement (~9 months) with potential for extension About Our Family We are a family of four in the Eagleville/Blue Bell area with two boys: a bubbly, energetic 8-month old and a preschool-aged child with complex developmental and physical needs. Our older son attends a specialized preschool program and uses mobility equipment. He is a joyful, engaging kid who thrives with patient, consistent caregivers who take the time to understand how he communicates and moves through the world. We are looking for someone who will become a trusted part of our family's team. Core Responsibilities Arrive at 6:30am and assist with morning routines for both boys Drive to his preschool program by 9:00am; safely manage both children in car seats During school hours, plan and provide enriching one-on-one care for baby — park outings, library story time, neighborhood exploration, etc. Pre-school pick up at 2:00pm, return home or drive to outpatient PT, and manage nap/rest routines for both children Household support during children's nap and independent play as time allows: children's laundry, bottle washing, toy organization, meal prep for the children, and light family meal preparation when time allows Communicate openly with parents about the day, flag concerns, and adapt to schedule changes (doctor appointments, school closures, early pickups, etc.) Hand off children to a parent at 3:30pm Additional Responsibilities Approximately twice during the year, provide transportation to an intensive therapy program located within 1-2 hours from home Occasional travel with our family 1-2 times during the contract period (details and compensation discussed during the interview process) Occasional days where both children are home for the full day; manage time and needs of both children and offer age/ability appropriate activities What We're Looking For This position may be especially well-suited to special education professionals, paraprofessionals, therapists, therapy aides, nursing students, teachers, graduate students, or experienced nannies seeking a meaningful role with a consistent schedule. We are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, safety-focused, and interested in making a meaningful difference in the lives of two young children. Prior experience caring for children with developmental or physical special needs Clean driving record; comfort and experience transporting young children in car seats Physical ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs, including safely assisting preschooler in and out of his car seat and mobility equipment CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Warm, patient, engaging, and flexible — no two days are exactly the same! Reliable, strong communicator who is proactive, not reactive Collaborative with therapists, educators, and other caregivers Meaningful relationship-building with a family navigating complex developmental needs Professional references from prior childcare or special needs experience Compensation & Benefits Highly competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and this specialized role Paid major holidays 5 paid vacation or sick days Paid school break periods Mileage/gas reimbursement for driving duties Paid travel days and expenses covered for any family travel To Apply Please send a brief introduction about yourself, your relevant experience, and two professional references via message or email.
