Before & After School Caregiver Gettysburg, PA 17325 $15

  • Part-time We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Before & After School Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.
This individual will work with other members of the teaching team in the classroom. You will be responsible for collaborating and implementing creative, engaging, and educational activities for school children aged 5-12 in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate must have experience working with children of different ages, the ability to multitask, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on their lives. This is a split
  • shift position covering the mornings and afternoons, as well as scheduled school closures.
During our summer schedule, this individual has the option to work full-time in our all-day summer program at the end of the school year.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities for students both before and after school. Always supervise and ensure the safety of students Sever/assist with meals (breakfast & snack) Walk to and from school daily and/ or put children on the school bus Provide homework assistance and academic support when needed Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior Conduct observations using the provided materials Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective program General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to apply early childhood development theories in daily classroom activities and facilitate appropriate outcomes for individual children. Able to meet the needs of children ages 5-12. Ability to be flexible with work schedules. Must have the ability to work and maintain high standards of professional ethics with people of different racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds. Qualifications, Education, and Experience Must have a high school diploma or GED Minimum of one (1) year of experience with children. Must pass all 4 PA-required background checks.
