Job Description
Homestead Village is a thriving non-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited, Life Plan Community located just outside downtown Lancaster. We are seeking a highly skilled, enthusiastic, & passionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our compassionate community as we enhance independence and dignity for all our Residents.
Location:
Main Apartment Building - Supportive Services; up to 98 residents on program // Westvue; Memory Care Unit ; up to 26 residentsBase Pay:
Determined based upon years of experience; starting rate with no experience or med-tech certification is $15.25; plus applicable shift & weekend differentials.Shift/Weekend Differentials:
$1.50 additional from 3:00pm-11:00pm $0.75 additional from 11:00pm-7:00am $1.25 additional on Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)Essential Job Responsibilities:
Establish respectful relationships with residents. Assist residents as identified in Resident Support Plan with Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living. Maintain CPR, AED and standard First Aid certification and administer as required Perform laundry and light housekeeping tasks as needed to ensure that the resident's living environment is safe (trash removal, dishes, removal of clutter, fall hazards, tidy apartment). Facilitate resident activities (formal and informal) to meet the social, educational, spiritual, recreational needs of the residents. Assist with dining, meal preparation and service. Escort residents to appointments, outings, and other off-campus events. Encourage proper hydration and nutrition of residents. Perform rounds to verify safety of residents. Answer call bells and verbal/non-verbal requests for help Uses proper infection control procedures. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the residents. Asks appropriate questions to have a clear understanding of task/resident needs. Maintains a safe/healthy/clean environment/practice. Adheres to Confidentiality Policy/HIPAA Documents accurately and appropriately and reads/understands provided documentation to perform tasks correctly. Follows and contributes to resident support plans Reports pertinent information regarding residents. Uses 3P Communication skills. Practice teamwork with co-workers, charge nurse, supervisor, and other departments to ensure that the needs of the residents and co-workers are met. Follows attendance and punctuality policy. Attend monthly staff meetings and complete/attend all in-services/education Accept direction from charge nurse/supervisor/administrator/organizational leadership. Come to work clean, appropriately dressed and wearing name tag at all times so that it can be easily seen by residents, visitors and other staff. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
