Job Description

Private Caregiver / Companion for Elderly Couple - Part-Time We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and confident caregiver/companion to provide additional support for an elderly couple living in an assisted living community. They already have access to the services provided by the facility. This position is for someone who can provide the extra one-on-one attention, encouragement, and accountability that family would normally provide. Primary Responsibilities Visit around lunchtime each day to make sure they get up, get ready, and go to the dining room for lunch. Return around 6:00 PM to make sure they go to the dining room for dinner. Be patient but firm and persistent . They can occasionally be stubborn or resistant, so we need someone who is comfortable encouraging them rather than simply accepting "no" as the answer. Provide companionship and check in on their general day-to-day needs. Occasionally take our grandfather for a ride, including trips to the store, to play his lottery numbers, or to run other small errands. Communicate with family if there are concerns or noticeable changes. Help provide some structure and consistency to their daily routine. Who We're Looking For The right person will be: Experienced working with seniors Confident dealing with strong personalities and occasional attitude Patient, personable, and respectful Dependable and punctual — consistency is extremely important Comfortable being assertive while still treating them with dignity Able to build a relationship with them rather than simply "check in" A safe driver with reliable transportation Able to communicate regularly with family Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, home health, caregiving, or a similar role is strongly preferred.
