Job Description

Job Overview We have an immediate opening for an experienced, dedicated support staff to work in the home and in the community with an individual located in Newtown (Bucks County), PA. This is a fast-paced and physically intensive role providing direct care for an individual who requires complete physical assistance. This position will be scheduled 3 shifts a week from 9:00am
  • 10:00pm (39 hours/week). Open availability, weekends and holidays are required. This position is ideal for someone who:
  • Is patient and a quick learner
  • Is reliable and consistent
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Has a positive, person-centered attitude Candidates with a strong background in home health and caregiving are highly encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities Redirect the individual safely and effectively as needed Cultivate feelings of safety and security for the individual Model positive behavior and communication Full-assistance with mobility, eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, accessing the community, interacting within the community, etc. Consistently engage and communicate verbally with the individual Maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with family members and other support staff to best meet the needs of the individual Qualifications Experience working 1-on-1 with individuals requiring complete physical assistance Experience working with non-verbal individuals Experience working with those living with a terminal illness Experience working with behavioral health Experience working in a family home and community settings Experience and Education Requirements Satisfy one of the following education or licensure requirements:
  • Active LPN or RN license
  • Active NADD Competency Based Clinical/Dual Diagnosis/Support Professional Certification
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician
  • Active Nursing Assistant certification
  • Active Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst
  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education, counseling, social work, gerontology or therapeutic recreation OR Be willing to obtain one of the following certifications to meet the education/licensure requirement:
  • NADD Competency Based Clinical/Dual Diagnosis/Support Professional Certification
  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification Job Requirements Ability to independently lift at least 120 pounds A valid driver's license Reliable transportation CPR and First Aid certification
