Part time DSP in Reading West Lawn, PA 19609 From $24.20 an hour

  • Part-time Part time Caregiver Position in Reading, PA Are you looking to make a difference in the life of a friendly woman with intellectual disabilities, autism, and dementia?
Are you looking for part-time hours mostly weekend hours (a 5-8 hour shift between 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM mostly weekend hours) with occasional week day hours if available? If so, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. We are seeking qualified candidates for an in-home licensed/certified
CNA, NADD, RN, LPN
to workwith a woman in Reading, PA for a minimum of 10 hours per week, every other weekend with some flexibility and possibility of more hours. Knowledge and experience working with individuals with IDD, aging, and dementia is a plus. You will be an integral part of her daily activities and will assist her with navigating and participating in her everyday life. In addition to supporting activities of daily life, other supports may include, shower, limited exercise, monitoring oxygen levels during the day, some monitoring of sleep apnea overnight, communication support and supervision while in the community, skin care, maintaining proper medication schedule, prompting through tasks, monitoring meal prep and safe eating habits, reviewing her daily nutrition log and talking with her about good nutrition, helping to educate this individual on how to best take care of her body, and performing a health assessment one time per week. She is good at communicating and is successful when schedules are maintained. You would also be responsible for maintaining her safety and providing companionship. For this position, you would be given 24 hours' notice to fill vacant staff positions. Shifts available :
  • Every other weekend 10-hour shift

Requirements:
  • Must have current
CNA, NADD, LPN, RN
certification/license
  • Clean criminal background
  • Valid CPR/BLS
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Prefer having at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with dementia

  • Experienced staff will:
  • Be responsible for the supervision, safety, and welfare of the individual at all times.
  • Be responsible for establishing and maintaining a productive daily activity pattern by consistently facilitating the individual's individual support plan (ISP).
  • Provide skills training, assistance, and/or supervision to the individual in the areas of daily living
  • Serve as a member of the team for the development of ISP. Gives feedback on the individual's performance in accomplishing goals and objectives of the ISP.
  • Coordinate, organize and/or assist with household activities per individual's ISP goals.
  • Communicate information consistently and will be responsible for documenting incidents on appropriate forms and verbally relaying information to the Managing Employer..
  • Demonstrate recognition of, and properly report suspected abuse and neglect.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
