Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in food preparation areas. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and compliance. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community outings using safe driving practices. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed diligently. Document patient progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure seamless care delivery. Requirements Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care including Alzheimer's and memory care strategies, and hospice or home health care practices. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are highly valued. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork; compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others. Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities supports your ability to adapt care approaches effectively. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed to meet client needs.
