A professional healthcare worker who is a quadriplegic is seeking a dependable, compassionate live-in personal assistant/caregiver to help him continue living independently. The client works full-time during the day and already has additional caregivers who assist with his care. As the live-in caregiver, you would primarily provide assistance during scheduled morning and evening routines, help cover some regularly scheduled shifts, and occasionally fill in if another caregiver is unavailable due to illness or an emergency. Potential scheduled or fill in assistance times include: Morning Approximately 4:30 AM to 6:30
AM Evenings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday:
approximately 8:30-9:00
PM Friday & Saturday:
approximately 10:00 PM Outside of these scheduled or emergency fill in responsibilities, your time is your own. You are welcome to work another job, attend school, or enjoy your personal time as long as scheduled and emergency care needs are met. Responsibilities Morning and evening routines may include: Transfers Dressing and grooming Bathroom assistance Meal preparation Getting ready for work Bedtime routine Household responsibilities include: Keeping the home clean and organized Laundry Grocery shopping Light housekeeping Helping maintain a comfortable, tidy home Household tasks are flexible and can generally be completed at times that work with your schedule. Full training is provided This Position Is a Team Effort You will not be expected to provide care every morning and every evening. The client already has additional caregivers who provide regular coverage. This role is intended to complement the existing caregiving team by providing scheduled assistance, maintaining the household, and offering occasional backup coverage when another caregiver is unavailable. Qualifications Compassionate, dependable, and respectful Comfortable assisting with transfers and personal care Able to pass the required Washington State background check Eligible to become a Washington State Individual Provider (IP) through Consumer Direct (CDWA) Current HCA or CNA license welcomed If not currently certified, paid training is available through CDWA Compensation Paid caregiving hours are compensated through the Washington State Consumer Direct (CDWA) Individual Provider program at the applicable state wage (currently approximately $23.54-$27.28 per hour, depending on classification and applicable wage rates). In addition, the selected live-in caregiver receives a private bedroom with no rent or utility expenses, representing substantial monthly savings.
