Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Caregiver to provide dedicated support and assistance to at-risk teens and young adults ages 13-21 in a residential setting. In this vital role, you will foster a safe, nurturing environment while promoting growth, independence, and well-being. Your enthusiasm for caregiving combined with your ability to connect with at-risk youth will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in trauma informed care, behavior management, and personal care. Duties Provide direct supervision and care to residents in accordance with program policies Ensure the safety, well-being, and emotional support of all residents at all times Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive behavior and emotional regulation Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with FDA dietary (age related) guidelines Assist residents with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, chores, and bedtime routines Build healthy, respectful relationships with residents and model appropriate behavior Support positive behavior through guidance, redirection, and approved behavior management techniques Facilitate and participate in recreational, educational, and life-skills activities Assist with homework and encourage academic engagement Observe, document, and report resident behaviors, incidents, and progress accurately and timely manner Administer medications as trained and authorized, following all protocols Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, case managers, and other staff Transport residents to school, appointments, and activities as required Maintain a clean, organized, and structured living environment Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing standards, and organizational policies Experience Previous experience working with youth, especially in residential, foster care, or behavioral health settings preferred Ability to work with at-risk youth with behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively and promote positive adolescent development Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills Ability to de-escalate conflicts and respond appropriately to crisis situations using trained interventions Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required training Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families, children, and team members.
