Job Description
Seeking a licensed and experienced caregiver to work in our home to take care of an 86-year-old male who depends upon a walker to get around. He has some dementia and is at risk. This is an overnight and part-time position. Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7pm to 7am the next day. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes, and reporting findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with meal planning and cooking Administer medications safely according to care plans and document all medication administration activities Support memory care needs, including dementia, ensuring a safe environment and engaging activities Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning living areas, and maintaining a hygienic environment. Follow the suggestions and requirements that the family has for the patient's care. Must like cats (there are two in the home). Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills, including CPR and first aid certification Familiarity with working with individuals with dementia-related conditions. Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, and the patient; physical stamina for long shifts is essential Strong communication skills to effectively interact with the family and other healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines Experience with medication administration, care plan development, and patient monitoring protocols. Valid driver's license and insurance for taking the patient to doctor appointments and other outings using his car. Valid certifications in CNA, CPR and first aid; training in home health care is advantageous Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to safety and resident well-being
