In this role, you'll provide essential non-medical support to clients in their own homes, promoting independence, safety, and well-being for individuals of all ages and abilities. This paid position offers a meaningful way to make a difference while developing your caregiving skills in a supportive environment. We service clients throughout Murfreesboro and surrounding areas. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support, including safe use of assistive devices (such as gait belts or a Hoyer lift already present in the client's home) after training Observe and report changes in a client's condition, behavior, or daily functioning to the agency — caregivers do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical assessments Prepare meals tailored to individual preferences and dietary needs, and assist with meal planning Provide verbal medication reminders only — caregivers do not administer, handle, sort, or make decisions about medication Offer companionship and emotional support, including for clients with memory loss or neurodevelopmental needs Perform light housekeeping (cleaning, laundry) and maintain a safe home environment Provide incidental transportation for errands or appointments when authorized in the service plan, using a valid driver's license and insured vehicle Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to pass a criminal background check (repeated every 2 years, or within 10 days of a change in duties involving direct client contact) Must be checked against and clear of the Tennessee Abuse Registry and the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry (checked prior to starting and re-verified annually) Must provide a continuous 5-year work history (we will contact your most recent employer, and any employer where you worked more than 6 months) Must provide three personal references, at least one of whom has known you for 5+ years Sufficient language skills to read instructions, communicate with clients, and maintain written care documentation Valid Tennessee driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance, if providing transportation assistance CPR/First Aid certification a plus, not required Prior caregiving, home health, or assisted-living experience preferred but not required — paid training provided What to Expect in the Hiring Process Completion of a signed job description and employment verification Background, Abuse Registry, and Sexual Offender Registry checks Reference and work-history verification Orientation and training on client rights, confidentiality, communicable disease precautions, and Family Tree Home Care's policies before working with clients Annual refresher training thereafter Family Tree Home Care is a licensed, non-medical Personal Support Services Agency committed to helping clients live safely and independently at home, with dignity and respect at every step.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
