Schedule varies seasonally (Flexible, ideal for students, nurses, care professionals). Must be physically strong for gait belt lifting 120 lbs. Bathing is not required. Job Overview I am a 33-year-old physically disabled man and outgoing musician seeking a reliable, strong, and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support with daily living activities. I live in North Austin near the Domain with my wife and friendly dog. Because I have muscular dystrophy, I use a wheelchair and rely on caregivers to help me. This position is ideal for someone who lives close to my home and who is responsible, organized, strong, and reliable. Flexible schedule perfect for students! Duties Assist with mobility and transfer lifts to and from wheelchair Assist with activities including shopping, errands, pumping gas, and attending events Light meal prep Provide direct support in daily activities including dressing and stretching Light housekeeping, organizing, and laundry Requirements Previous experience in personal care/medical is mandatory due to nature of position Must have strong upper body strength for manual transfers Reliable, organized, and good communication skills Flexibility in scheduling for accommodating needs Non-smoking PPE and equipment provided Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Certification in CPR is required upon hiring; training is provided
