Job Summary:
Residential Support Services Staff provide compassionate, person-centered care and support to individuals with physical disabilities and/or medical, developmental, and behavioral support needs who reside in a group home setting. The Residential Support Services Staff member assists residents with activities of daily living, personal care, community participation, medication-related documentation, transportation, and other support needs while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life. Staff are expected to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive residential environment and to work as part of a team to meet each residents individual needs and service goals.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and other personal care needs as appropriate. Encourage and teach residents appropriate self-care skills and greater independence based on their individual abilities and support plans. Provide positive encouragement and support to promote appropriate behaviors, communication, social interaction, and community participation. Prepare and serve meals and provide appropriate assistance and supervision during mealtimes. Accompany and assist residents with shopping, recreational activities, appointments, community outings, and other activities. Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, activities, school, and other approved destinations using a company vehicle. Monitor residents health, safety, behaviors, and overall well-being and promptly report changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Observe and document residents daily activities, behaviors, communication, eating/feeding patterns, personal care, and progress as required. Complete required daily documentation, including medication administration records (MAR/MARS), progress notes, incident reports, and other assigned records accurately and timely. Follow individual service plans, medication procedures, emergency procedures, behavioral support plans, and all applicable company policies and regulations. Implement approved behavioral and safety interventions when necessary. Any physical intervention or restraint must be performed only when authorized, trained, and permitted by applicable policies and regulations.

Maintain confidentiality and protect each residents privacy, dignity, rights, and personal information. Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming residential environment. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, residents, families, medical professionals, and other members of the individuals support team as appropriate. Work at other company group home locations or provide coverage at other assigned areas when needed.

Perform other duties related to residential support services as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma/GED preferred, depending on position requirements. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, behavioral support needs, or in a residential care setting is preferred but not required for all positions. Must be able to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, complete required documentation, and work cooperatively as part of a team. Must demonstrate patience, dependability, professionalism, and respect for individuals receiving services. Must be able to perform essential physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must have a valid Texas Driver License and meet company requirements for operating a company vehicle. Successful completion of required background checks and any other pre-employment screening required by the organization. Must be willing to complete required training and maintain required certifications.
Schedule:
This position may require a flexible schedule based on the needs of the residents and the operation of the home. Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a residential group home and involves providing direct support and supervision to residents throughout the scheduled shift. Staff may work independently at times and must be able to respond appropriately to routine and unexpected situations.
