Role Description The Direct Care Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Denton, TX, responsible for providing daily support and supervision to residents in a safe housing environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring resident well-being, assisting with daily routines, accompanying residents to appointments or activities, and supporting participation in trauma-informed programming. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized living environment, documenting resident progress and incidents accurately, and following organizational policies and care plans. Direct Care Associates collaborate with clinical and program staff, participate in team meetings, and respond calmly and appropriately to crises, ensuring a supportive, respectful, and consistent environment for all residents. Qualifications Ability to provide direct residential care, including supervision, support with daily living activities, and consistent presence in a 24/7 environment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills for building trust and rapport with residents and team members. Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and the ability to apply them in daily interactions and crisis situations. Organizational and documentation skills to accurately record resident progress, incidents, and compliance with program guidelines. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, respect confidentiality, and uphold non-discriminatory, person-centered practices. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed for resident care. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in social services, psychology, counseling, or related fields is beneficial. Previous experience in residential care, social services, or working with survivors of trauma or vulnerable populations is strongly preferred. Ability to pass background checks and meet all organizational and regulatory requirements for working in a residential care setting.
