Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Youth Care Supervisor. MUST be reliable and dependable. Must have a valid Driver's License. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic. Must be a team player. Job Duties Supervise youth and set appropriate behavioral limits Maintains positive community relations with parents, other agencies, and youth family members. Prepares and maintain files in confidential manner and maintains proper documentation in the staff communication logs regarding client behavior and activity. Maintains a log of incidents, facility maintenance issues and resolutions. Implement social and recreational activities. Provide input into development of treatment plans as appropriate. Participate in group therapy sessions for residents, as necessary. Participate in daily community meetings. Teach constructive behavior and social skills. Performs routine room inspections for cleanliness, contraband and safety hazards. Ensures a safe and secure environment for residents. Maintain appropriate boundaries with residents at all times Provider proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention when required or directed by staff. Be a positive role model for residents. Maintain an orderly and clean living area. Oversee daily chores. Assume responsibility for transportation. Assist in orientation of new residents. Gain a working knowledge of policies. Other daily duties as assigned. Job Requirements Ability to walk frequently; occasionally stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to process maturity, sense of confidence and emotional stability. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to be a positive role model for youth. Ability to evaluate and manage emergencies. Ability to evaluate and react appropriately to crisis situations. •Criminal Background Check & Drug Test will be conducted. • Valid Texas Driver's License and/or Valid Texas ID Physical Demands Driving a vehicle to conduct work. Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees, clients, and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact. Physical ability to effectively use and operate office equipment, such as, computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machine. Must have the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must have the physical capacity to lift a minimum of 1.5 cubic feet of files (approximately 40 lbs.), move furniture, and restrain violent adolescents. Education High School Diploma or GED Experience One (1) year employment in the child welfare field with children and/or adolescents in social setting.

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
