Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Care Staff to support youth in our Residential Treatment Center (RTC) . In this role, you will provide daily supervision, structure, and emotional support to children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs. Direct Care Staff play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where youth can develop healthy coping skills, improve behavior, and work toward positive life outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide 24/7 supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of all youth residents Build positive, supportive relationships with youth through consistent engagement Assist residents with daily routines, including hygiene, meals, chores, and school preparation Implement behavior management strategies and support individualized treatment plans De-escalate conflicts and respond appropriately to crisis situations using approved techniques Facilitate group activities, life skills training, and recreational programming Transport youth to school, medical appointments, and community outings as needed Maintain accurate documentation (daily logs, incident reports, progress notes) Enforce program rules, structure, and expectations consistently Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other team members Qualifications High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's in social work, psychology, education, or related field preferred) Experience working with at-risk youth, behavioral health, childcare, or residential settings preferred Ability to engage youth in a respectful, empathetic, and structured manner Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations Must pass background check and drug screening Valid driver's license with clean driving record CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Competencies Patience, empathy, and consistency Ability to set firm but supportive boundaries Team-oriented mindset Strong observation and documentation skills Cultural awareness and sensitivity Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise youth for extended periods Ability to safely intervene in crisis situations (training provided)
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
