Missouri City About the Position Caregiver needed to provide in-home assistance to a disabled veteran . This is a fill-in position , making it a great opportunity for someone who already works another job, has other clients, or is looking for additional income and flexible hours. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, patient, and comfortable assisting an individual with daily activities while maintaining dignity, privacy, and independence.
Job Duties Responsibilities may include:
Providing companionship and general supervision Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed Assisting with toileting and incontinence care as needed Assisting with mobility, transfers, and positioning as appropriate Preparing simple meals and assisting with feeding when needed Medication reminders (no medication administration unless appropriately licensed/authorized) Light housekeeping related to the veteran's care Laundry and changing bed linens as needed Assisting with errands or appointments when requested Providing a safe and comfortable home environment Observing and reporting changes in condition or behavior to the appropriate family member/caregiver Following the veteran's established care plan and family instructions Providing respectful and compassionate care at all times Ideal Candidate Previous caregiving, CNA, home health, personal care, or nursing experience preferred Reliable and able to accept occasional fill-in shifts Compassionate, patient, and respectful Comfortable working independently in a private home Good communication skills Able to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality Must be dependable and punctual Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position CPR/BLS certification is a plus CNA or other healthcare experience is a plus Why This Position May Be a Good Fit This is not a traditional full-time position . It is best suited for someone looking for: Extra income Occasional shifts Flexible work Supplemental hours around another job Backup/fill-in caregiving work A consistent opportunity to help a veteran without committing to a full-time schedule Important Because this is a fill-in position, reliability is extremely important . The caregiver must be willing to communicate their availability and provide reasonable notice when accepting or declining a shift.
