The caregiver will provide hands-on assistance, emotional support, and meaningful engagement to residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, respectful, and committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and home-like environment for every resident. Memory care caregiving requires a person-centered approach, consistency, and the ability to respond calmly to changing behaviors and needs.[aplaceformom] Essential Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, and oral hygiene. Provide mobility assistance, transfers, repositioning, and escorts in accordance with each resident's care plan and safe-transfer procedures. Support residents during meals, including dining-room escort, meal setup, hydration, and eating assistance as needed. Follow individualized service plans and provide care according to community policies and procedures. Promote resident dignity, independence, choice, and privacy during all care activities. Use compassionate dementia-care techniques when responding to confusion, agitation, anxiety, wandering, or other behavioral expressions. Maintain resident safety by monitoring for falls, elopement risks, unsafe activities, and changes in condition. Encourage residents to participate in activities, exercise, social programs, and other meaningful experiences. Observe and promptly report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the nurse or supervisor. Document care provided, observations, incidents, and other required information accurately and promptly. Read and contribute to shift reports to support continuity of care. Respond appropriately to call lights, emergency situations, door alarms, and other community alerts. Keep resident rooms, common areas, and dining areas clean, organized, and welcoming. Complete assigned laundry, linen changes, trash removal, and light housekeeping duties. Communicate professionally with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and healthcare providers. Protect resident confidentiality and follow all applicable privacy, abuse-prevention, infection-control, and safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by the nurse or supervisor.
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
