Job Description

Do you want to change young women's lives? Do you want a meaningful job that helps others? Then this is the job for you! Young Women's Empowerment Center is a state run facility where troubled female adolescents are sent. They need a place where they can receive help, love and support. We have been around for 20 plus years successfully changing these young ladies lives. A youth mentor is someone who can guide and direct these young ladies into the right direction by making the right choices. Some may need more help then others, but every residents journey is unique. A youth mentor is someone who can hold healthy boundaries and hold the residents accountable. As well as coming into work with a good attitude. We are the role models for these ladies and we set the example. The residents range from 12-17 and while being in treatment they receive a lot of different skills that they will use and need for the rest of their life. Young women's empowerment center is an all girls residential treatment program that specializes in some of the following areas: Conduct Disorders Abandonment Issues (RAD) PTSD Sexual Assault Trauma Depression and Anxiety Eating Disorders Mood Disorders Mild Substance Abuse Mild Self-harm Family Conflict ADD/ADHD/ODD/Defiance Entitlement Suicidal Thoughts Relational Aggression Bullying/Cyber-bullying Internet (social media) Addiction/Obsession What we are looking for: We are seeking qualified team players to fill our Mentor/Staff Member position. You will provide non-classroom instructions to residents on a one on one or group setting. You will oversee up to 12 residents on a daily basis. This includes but is not limited to; ensuring the safety of supervision of all residents, lead classes based on DBT and CBT therapy treatments, prepare meals and snacks for the residents, keep all residents on track with the daily schedule requirements, transport the residents to weekly activities and appointments, and provide emotional support for all residents to ensure client satisfaction. We are looking to fill the following shift's: We are currently looking for swing shifts which starts at 3PM and ends at 11PM. We are in need of full-time employees.
Responsibilities:
Manage and educate residents in a non-classroom setting Design and implement lesson plans at varying academic and behavioral levels Establish therapeutic goals and milestones with residents Document and communicate progress reports with management and therapist Lead and document daily group group sessions with the residents Provide constructive feedback for all residents Prepare meals for residents [as well as staff] Oversee and ensure the resident's daily completion of household chores Distribute medications as needed Use PCS training to ensure safety of all residents (you will be trained on-site) Transport residents to appointments and activities Attend monthly staff meetings and training classes Reliable and committed employee Willing to hold healthy boundaries with all female residents Most importantly

Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age Ability to receive a Food Handlers Permit Ability to become CPR/First Aid certified Have strong leadership qualities Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check Ability to follow instructions Ability to accept feedback and constructive criticism Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude Ability to make quick, split second decisions Ability to build a good rapport with clients and co-workers Be able to set and maintain strong healthy boundaries with clients Arrive for your shifts on time Have reliable transportation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Be able to work as a team with other mentors and staff members Previous experience is NOT required
