Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, a strong understanding of patient care, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status. Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the client's living space, including light housekeeping duties. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Engage clients in memory care activities for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Provide direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement effective care strategies. Qualifications Experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy. Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in condition or behavior. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client assistance. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor when interacting with clients and their families. Previous experience working with people with disabilities or in hospice care is advantageous. Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is essential.
