Aug 17, 2026 Job Description Make a Difference Every Day! Green Mountain Union High School is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and student-focused individual to join our educational team as a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) with LNA credentials for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, school-year position working five days per week in support of a student with diverse learning, physical, and medical needs. The PCA provides both instructional and personal care support, helping students access their educational program while ensuring their health, safety, comfort, and participation throughout the school day. The hourly rate will be commensurate with experience and driven by the collective bargaining agreement ($17.35 - $21.35 per hour, currently under negotiations and is expected to increase).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students individually and in small groups with instructional activities and IEP goals
  • Assist students with activities of daily living, including dressing, toileting, hygiene, and mobility
  • Serve meals and snacks and provide feeding assistance as needed
  • Lift, transfer, move, position, and reposition students safely throughout the school day
  • Utilize adaptive equipment and assist with physical and medical needs as directed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized student environment, including student workspaces and personal care areas
  • Support positive student behavior and encourage student independence and inclusion
  • Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and daily support activities
  • Assist with supervision during lunch, recess, transportation, field trips, and other school activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, nurses, therapists, and other members of the student support team
