Yakima, WA Pay:

$20.50•$21.94 per hour We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Caregiver with DDA to provide one-on-one support to children who are nonverbal, have significant autism support needs, and require assistance with personal care, including diaper changes. Position Overview This role focuses on helping children remain safe, engaged, and supported in their daily routines while promoting comfort, independence, and positive experiences. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, attentive to individual needs, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision and support throughout daily activities Assist with diapering, hygiene, dressing, and personal care needs Support communication using nonverbal methods, visual supports, or communication devices as directed Help maintain structured routines and transitions throughout the day Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community activities Monitor behavior and respond appropriately to sensory or emotional needs Maintain a safe environment and follow individualized care plans Document services and observations accurately Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities Previous DSP, caregiving, behavioral support, special education, respite care, or childcare experience Ability to remain patient, positive, and supportive during challenging situations Knowledge of autism support strategies, sensory needs, and behavior support techniques is a plus CPR/First Aid certification preferred Requirements Must be 18 years or older Ability to pass state and national background checks Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and clean driving record Ability to complete required caregiver/HCA training if needed Ability to read, write, and speak English for documentation purposes Benefits 401(k) Flexible schedule Health insurance Mileage reimbursement Paid time off many more
