This vital role involves administering medications, providing personal care, and supporting residents' overall well-being within a senior living or healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving, with experience working with geriatric populations, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized medical attention. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives through attentive and professional care. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. Assist residents with daily personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any significant changes to medical staff promptly. Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care by implementing tailored care strategies. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards. Assist with feeding procedures, including tube feeding when necessary, and ensure proper nutrition and hydration. Follow safety protocols during manual handling and heavy lifting to prevent injury to residents and staff. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and family members to coordinate comprehensive resident care plans. Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms for accurate documentation. Certification in First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and hospice or palliative care preferred. Strong caregiving skills with the ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with residents of diverse backgrounds. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks required for resident mobility assistance. Understanding of state healthcare regulations, resident rights, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
