Community-Based Residential Facility Caregiver 1976 Old Lancaster Road, Platteville, WI 53818 From $16 an hour - Part-time, Full-time From $16 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community-Based Residential Facility Caregivers to provide high-quality support and care to residents in a home-like environment. This role involves assisting individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health conditions, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home and community care settings, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in residents' lives. Responsibilities Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Administer medications following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate documentation Monitor vital signs and observe changes in residents' health status, reporting any concerns to medical staff or supervisors Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed to ensure proper nutrition Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing behavior management techniques Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks within the facility Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental and emotional well-being Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures and emergency response plans Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support techniques Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general Ability to assist with ADLs and perform personal care tasks compassionately and professionally Familiarity with vital signs measurement and medication administration is a plus Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Valid driver's license for transportation duties is preferred Certification in first aid is advantageous Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and understanding A caring attitude coupled with excellent interpersonal skills This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents' lives while working in a supportive team environment dedicated to quality care.
