Join our dedicated team as a Youth Care Worker and become a vital supporter in the lives of young individuals facing challenging circumstances. Monroe County Shelter Care Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has served Monroe County for over 50 years. Right now, part-time employees for our 8-bed co-ed home for youth ages 10-17. We are staffed 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. Our group home provides supervision, stability, and life skills for our at-risk youth in the community. We are looking for two part-time employees to fill every other weekend shift. Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 8 pm. Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with youth through active listening, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. Assist in implementing individualized care plans that promote emotional stability, social skills, and personal growth. Supervise daily activities, ensuring safety and engagement during recreational, educational activities. Support youth in developing essential life skills. Document progress notes, incident reports, and behavioral observations accurately and promptly. Collaborate with team members, families, and external professionals to coordinate care strategies and share insights. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and promoting respectful interactions among residents. Qualifications Passionate about supporting youth development with a positive and energetic attitude. Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in challenging situations. Prior experience working with young people or in social services is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and follow-up tasks efficiently. Basic understanding of trauma-informed care principles is a plus.
