Case Support Specialist 1001 South Knik Goose Bay Road, Wasilla, AK 99654 $24

- Full-time The Case Support Specialist will work with victims to provide referral services, outreach, and advocacy.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage an active participant caseload.
- Develop a victim support group.
- Host various workshops.
- Support clients by finding healthy activities within and outside of KT.
- Provide information on services available in the community.
- Identify participant barriers and assist them in finding solutions to barrier removal.
- Promote self sufficiency by providing educational training centered around traditional values.
- Recognize participants' strengths and skills. Apply those attributes to appropriate activities.
- Develop relationships with community partners outside KT, with the goal of sharing resources and events.
- Conduct outreach activities to recruit participation in KT programs/services.
- Work one on one with staff on referrals and outreach for Social Services programs.
- Submit reporting documents to the Manager.
- Obtain, track and document all pertinent information in each case file and/or electronically.
- Participate in scheduled community meetings as requested.
- Assist in the facilitation of group activities or workshops.
- Work as part of a team: the team includes co-workers, partner agencies and participants.
- Attend and actively participate in department meetings and trainings.
- Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in grant writing projects.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations and make sound judgments.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social, health, education and training and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community.
- Ability to deescalate in times of crisis.
- Create connections between elders, youth, and adults, and community stakeholders utilizing traditional cultural values with every opportunity.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in working with clients in crisis case management experience.
- Experience navigating community resources preferred, with preference given to those with knowledge of mental health and social work.
- Knowledge of Alaska Native and American Indian culture and/or community resources.
- Valid Alaska driver's license and be insurable under KT's automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver's license for the past 5 years.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clean state and federal background check.
