Job Description

Summary:
CHILD, Inc.'s Domestic Violence Rapid Re-Housing program is designed to meet the needs of homeless domestic violence survivors. The program provides survivors with access to housing resources and ongoing victim-centered, trauma-informed supportive services. The program goal is for participants to obtain employment, support financial independence and maintain long term housing. This position provides home-based case management services for families experiencing homelessness rehoused in the community.
Requirements:
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited school or university preferred, in the behavioral sciences (family studies, behavioral science, counseling, social work, sociology, psychology) and a minimum of two years' work experience in the social service field. An associates degree or equivalent college credits acceptable with at least 4 years of direct service experience. Bilingual preferred. Knowledge of employment and training laws, rules, regulations and procedures. Knowledge of occupational job titles, duties and requirements. Knowledge of self-help services available to job seekers and employers. Strong commitment to the goals of housing advocacy, victim empowerment advocacy, trauma informed practices. Knowledge of the domestic violence and social service fields and the major practices and problems of their agencies. Understand confidentiality and counseling ethics as they relate to domestic violence. Effective written and verbal communication. Experience with thorough documentation in case notes, program statistics, and reports. Must have a driving record in good standing, the level of liability insurance required by CHILD, Inc. policy, a satisfactory driving record, and a vehicle in good working condition.
Responsibilities :
Provide assessment of job seeker skill levels, placement assistance and career counseling. Assist job seekers to establish realistic and achievable goals; identify obstacles/barriers to employment and develop employability plans directed at successful employment outcomes. Establish and maintain on-going relationships with employers and employment related programs. Determine eligibility for participation in various programs, to consider level of danger client is in, to determine housing stability, etc. Manage the wait list. Conduct intakes & ongoing assessments using an assessment tool with clients. Meets with clients in the community and in their homes to conduct casework. Proactively seeks out affordable housing opportunities. Establish and maintain relationships with landlords and other housing providers. Transports clients in personal vehicle as needed, to achieve case related goals.
