As a Case Manager at Serene Harbor, you'll be the steady hand beside them every step of the way. Who we are For more than 30 years, Serene Harbor has stood with survivors of domestic violence across Brevard County, providing emergency shelter, a 24/7 confidential hotline, counseling, transportation, legal advocacy, support groups, and so much more. Our mission is to end the cycle of domestic violence in our community through education, empowerment, intervention, prevention, social change, advocacy, and the engagement of everyone around us. The role As a Case Manager, you'll provide comprehensive advocacy, case management, and support to adult survivors living in our shelter or receiving outreach services. Working from a trauma-informed, empowerment-based philosophy, you'll help each person move from crisis toward genuine self-sufficiency and toward the fresh start they deserve. You'll meet with every new adult resident within 72 hours to assess their immediate needs and complete a health and safety screening, then build an individualized service plan around real goals: safe housing, employment, financial literacy, and independence. You'll meet weekly to celebrate progress and problem-solve setbacks. You'll be a fierce advocate, too, assisting with injunction for protection orders and standing beside clients in court and helping survivors navigate employers, agencies, and service providers. Alongside that, you'll offer crisis de-escalation, safety planning, counseling, and referrals. You'll keep documentation accurate, submit monthly reports for grant compliance, collaborate with community partners, and report to the Program Manager. Who we're hoping to meet You believe deeply that people can rebuild — and you have the patience, warmth, and skill to help them do it. You bring a degree in a social services field and ideally personal or professional experience with domestic violence. You're an excellent communicator, organized under pressure, self-motivated, and just as effective on a team as on your own. Because this role moves between the shelter, the courthouse, and the community, you'll need a valid Florida driver's license, a safe driving record, and a willingness to drive agency vehicles. You'll complete the 30-hour Domestic Violence Core Competency Training, keep a flexible schedule that could include weekends and varied shifts, be able to lift up to 40 pounds, and respond quickly and calmly when a crisis calls for it.
