Job Description
Case Manager - Personal Injury Legal SupportPosition Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Case Manager to support our personal injury practice. The Case Manager will coordinate case workflows from intake through resolution, manage client communications, organize legal documentation, and collaborate with attorneys and medical providers to advance claims. This role balances client advocacy with administrative precision to ensure timely, ethical, and effective case management.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of personal injury matters, tracking deadlines, case milestones, and court dates to ensure timely progress.
Act as primary client contact, providing regular updates, answering questions, and coordinating interviews and meetings with attorneys.
Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, correspondence, medical records, and evidence for settlement negotiations and litigation.
Conduct intake assessments, gather factual information, and enter case details into the case management system accurately.
Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, expert witnesses, and other third parties to obtain records, bills, and reports.
Assist attorneys with discovery, drafting pleadings, motions, settlement demands, and responses as needed.
Monitor settlement disbursements, liens, and drafts closing statements to ensure accurate distribution of funds.
Maintain accurate case files, billing entries, and calendar management using legal practice management software.
Identify issues affecting case value or timeline and recommend strategies to attorneys to optimize outcomes and mitigate risk.
Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including confidentiality of client information and adherence to firm policies.
QualificationsAssociates degree or paralegal certificate preferred; Bachelors degree in related field a plus.2+ years of experience in case management, legal assistant, or paralegal role, preferably in personal injury law.
Working knowledge of personal injury claims, medical billing, lien resolution, and settlement processes.
Proficiency with legal case management software, document management systems, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated client-facing experience.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to review and summarize medical records and reports; familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client advocacy and ethical practice.
