Job Summary The Work Comp Case Manager coordinates the daily management of all Workers' Compensation cases and supports the HR Benefits/Leave Manager with FMLA and ADAAA accommodation case management. This role serves as a key liaison between employees, leadership, healthcare providers, and external partners to ensure timely, compliant, and compassionate case handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer the Workers' Compensation program, including reviewing incident reports and managing cases from start to resolution Act as a liaison between HR, employees, supervisors, physicians, insurance carriers, attorneys, and external case managers Submit First Reports of Injury, manage correspondence, and track billing with insurance providers Coordinate timekeeping related to missed work due to workplace injuries Manage and support leave cases in partnership with the organization's leave management vendor Assist with FMLA and ADAAA accommodation case management Lead and coordinate the Transitional Return to Work Program (WIN), placing employees in modified duty roles as needed Maintain OSHA logs, reporting, and required postings Develop, update, and maintain policies related to Workers' Compensation and Leave Management Participate in hospital committees such as Safety and Infection Control Serve as a resource for HR policies and procedures, providing accurate guidance and direction Create and maintain process documentation and educate team members on updates and changes
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (Preferred) Clinical experience strongly preferred Previous experience in Workers' Compensation, Case Management, and/or Industrial Nursing preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities Sound judgment and decision-making abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners Knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, and ADAAA regulations is a plus
