The organization is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and trauma-informed Part-Time Evening Case Manager for our Domestic Violence Transitional Shelter. This role delivers vital crisis intervention, safety planning, and goal-oriented stabilization services to survivors and their children during evening hours - 20-28 hours per week, typically, Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with occasional weekend flexibility. Crisis Intervention And Safety Planning Complete confidential, empathetic intakes and safety assessments for incoming evening residents. Formulate and update customized, actionable safety plans tailored to shelter living and community transitions. Provide de-escalation and immediate support during interpersonal conflicts or emotional crises within the shelter. Case Management And Advocacy Conduct regular one-on-one evening meetings with residents to review housing, legal, and self-sufficiency goals. Guide residents through complex applications for permanent housing, legal protections, and financial aid. Act as an advocate and liaison between residents and vital external local service providers. Connect clients directly with NOFJC on-site services, including the Hope Community Clinic and trauma counseling. Shelter Operations And Community Building Monitor the shelter facility during evening hours to maintain a secure, supportive, and clean communal environment. Coordinate and oversee the equitable distribution of food, clothing, hygiene products, and emergency supplies. Facilitate evening house meetings or informal support check-ins to foster community cooperation among residents. Ensure strict adherence to shelter rules, confidentiality protocols, and safety guidelines. Administration And Documentation Record all client interactions, goals, and milestones in the agency data tracking system before shift completion. Document facility logs, security checks, and incident reports with high detail and professional objectivity. Participate in required staff meetings, case consultations, and in-service training sessions.

Required Education And Experience Degree:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related human services field (Comparable direct advocacy experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).

Experience:

Minimum of one year working directly with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or trauma. Necessary Skills And Knowledge Proven foundation in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) principles and crisis counseling. Comprehensive awareness of New Orleans housing resources, legal aid networks, and social services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build rapport with diverse, high-risk populations. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and boundary-setting abilities in fast-paced environments. Additional Requirements Must complete the mandated 40-hour domestic violence and sexual assault training certification upon hire. Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and reference screening.
