Northeast Michigan CMHA is looking for a Casual Children's Assistant to join our dedicated team! JOB SUMMARY
Will assist Home-Based Services (HBS) Clinicians in implementing goals and objectives identified in the individual plan of service (IPOS). May be required to participate in the interdisciplinary team/person-centered planning process. Will be involved in a wide range of activities, including one-on-one interaction, observation or monitoring, and planning and carrying out activities to enhance emotional/functional well-being and independence. Services will be provided in non-traditional settings, including the home and community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
Knowledge of mental health issues related to children with a serious emotional disturbance. Ability to interact and communicate effectively. Experience providing children/family mental health services and experience working within a treatment team preferred. Lived experience with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders is valued.
Other:
Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (as determined by the agency). Ability to work a varied schedule and maintain favorable public relations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Work effectively with providers, families, and HBS Clinicians regarding service implementation and individual participation. 2. Demonstrate effective case recording in accordance with Person Centered Planning, and NeMCMHA "Case Recording Guidelines". 3. Participates in on-call rotation for Mobile Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services (ICSS). 4. Maintain familiarity and professional working relationships with community services for infants, children, and their families. 5. Promote independence and mental health recovery in all aspects of individual interaction. 6. Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions, standards of practice, and emergency protocol.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Performs other related duties as required. 2. May be requested to be involved in the Board's continuous quality improvement program. 3. May be required to provide own transportation while performing agency-related duties.

Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, lift up to 25 pounds, with or without assistance, stretch/reach, hear, see, hand/finger dexterity, and drive.
