Housing Resource Assistant

Housing Resource Assistant Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency

• Conduct intake and assessment on clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
• Assist clients in locating and securing safe, affordable housing including assistance with required paperwork and applications
• Provide appropriate referrals to all services for which clients may be eligible
• Maintain a relationship with area landlords, advocating for low-income people
• Serve as liaison between clients and their landlord as needed to help mitigate crises or resolve conflict
• Provide housing case management to SMCAA's housing stabilization programs in Cass and Van Buren Counties
• Travel through out the service area as needed
• Assist in case-management of homeless shelter participants
• Provide back-up and support for all Homeless and Housing programs, projects, and services and act as a valuable team player of the Homeless and Housing department as requested
