Income Maintenance Caseworker I

Job Description

An Income Maintenance Caseworker I enters applications or recertifications, completes interviews, and processes household changes in both the NCFAST system as well as our local document management system. This position will communicate closely with customers and supervision/management. The goal of this position is to ensure the agency is meeting quality and timeliness standards for the State for the Economic Services Program.
Job responsibilities include:
Complete changes, enter applications/recertifications into state system, and complete interviews Complete NC FAST Tasks daily Enter data into NC FAST and document management system Attend Trainings Stay abreast of policy updates
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of NC FAST Ability to complete NC FAST Certifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Communication Skills Organizational Skills Must be available to work during emergency situations. Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact , which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Direct experience with NC FAST is highly desirable as well as the Intro to Human Services and Income Maintenance Caseworker - NC FAST Certificates. Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
