Job Description

Position Description Child Support Agent I supports child support enforcement services by assisting with case intake, customer service, case research, and file preparation. Duties include interviewing clients, gathering and verifying information, establishing paternity and support obligations, maintaining records, processing applications, and communicating with clients, courts, and agencies. The role requires strong organizational, communication, investigative, and customer service skills in an office-based environment. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Child Support Enforcement programs and legal procedures Ability to interview clients and investigate cases effectively Strong organizational, analytical, and case documentation skills Basic math skills Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, court officials, law enforcement, attorneys, and community partners Strong communication and customer service abilities Experience using databases and electronic filing systems Case File Preparation Analyzes documents and other information. Inputs documents and/or data into ACTS system, and/or hard or electronic case filing systems. Pulls closed and/or retrieved files when necessary. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma and two (2) years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work; or Associate degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement, or related field and one (1) year of related experience; or Four-year degree; or Equivalent combination of education and experience Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license and good driving record. •Please note, this is only a summary.
