Social Security Reports to: Assistant SSD Division Dir.
Full-time Nonexempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with disabilities as they navigate through the complex process of applying for SSD benefits. This role primarily focuses on managing cases at the Pre-Hearings Level. The Pre-Hearings Case Manager is expected to: Utilize a moderate level of discretion and independent judgement as they oversee the handling of a caseload of Social Security Disability claims at the Pre-Hearings level, ensuring that all cases progress smoothly and efficiently. Work collaboratively with the Pre-Hearings Case Manager Assistant, attorneys, and/or representatives on cases at the Pre-Hearings Level; while utilizing a moderate level of discretion and independent judgement to delegate tasks to the Pre-Hearing Case Manager Assistant which may include any of the following: contacting Social Security Administration (SSA) & The Disability Determine Services (DDS) office , contacting clients to either provide an update on their case and/or follow up on required paperwork needed from them; faxing paperwork - such as SSA and/or DDS; complete call backs from either SSA/DDS Offices, and/or Clients; following up with clients on paperwork deadlines that have to be turned into SSA/DDS; calendaring various tasks and/or clients appointments; collecting medical records; maintaining client files - ensuring client files/records are accurate and up-to-date adhering to organizational and regulatory standards. Evaluate the strength of each case, including the medical evidence, work history, and vocational limitations, to determine the likelihood of a successful outcome. Assist clients in completing necessary forms, such as disability reports and appeals documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Collect and organize all relevant medical and supporting evidence to strengthen the case. Maintain regular contact with clients to provide updates on their case status, address any questions or concerns, and offer guidance throughout the Pre-Hearing process. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients at the Pre-Hearings level and establish rapport and trust. Maintain detailed and accurate case files, including client records, correspondence, and case-related documentation. Ensure all client information is confidentially managed and comply with relevant data protection and privacy regulations. Communicate and collaborate with medical professionals, including doctors, therapists, and specialists, to obtain necessary medical records, opinion letters, or additional evidence to support clients' claims. Adherence to all legal and ethical standards, including SSA regulations, professional codes of conduct, and client confidentiality. In addition, with other duties that may be assigned.

Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent customer service and ability to show empathy. Ability to de-escalate and resolve clients' concerns. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with employees at all levels. Proficiency in basic computer knowledge and usage Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. High school diploma or equivalent (SSA, SSD, or SSDI experience preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
