Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Provides crisis intervention, advocacy and supportive services to individuals primarily in Seneca County who have experienced domestic and family violence, child abuse, and sexual violence. Conducts client needs assessments, makes referrals to other victim services, and connects clients with community resources. Provides trauma-informed advocacy, manages case documentation, and supports clients with various needs including navigating Department of Social Services (DSS). Acts as a liaison and provides advocacy to referrals from Seneca County probation, Seneca County Sherriff's department and local Seneca County Police Departments. Educates clients about eligibility for the Office of Victim Services, advocates in family court, and ensures compliance with laws and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts comprehensive assessments of client needs, provides referrals to other victim services, and facilitates connections with additional community support services for additional assistance. Develops a service plan that outlines the necessary steps and resources to meet the client's needs. Makes referrals to appropriate community resources when necessary. Monitors client progress and adjusts plan as needed. Manages a caseload and ensures timely and accurate completion of case notes with the Agency database. Assists with in-house DSS referrals related to emergency services including but not limited to emergency housing, SNAP and temporary assistance applications. Provides appropriate internal referrals to the Case Management team for continued support. Provides trauma-informed advocacy by helping clients with goal planning, offering crisis intervention, developing safety plans, and providing consistent follow-up services to ensure ongoing support. Educates clients about their eligibility for the Office of Victim Services and guide them through the application processes as necessary. Provides dedicated advocacy services in family court, collaborates with law enforcement, and works alongside Child Protective Services as needed. Offers clear information and direct assistance to clients obtaining Family Court Orders of Protection. Provides information about services to victims listed on Domestic Incident Reports. Accompanies and advocates for clients during hospital visits and Forensic Rape Exams ensuring they receive the necessary medical and emotional support. Provides crisis support to the community by responding to calls from hospitals and law enforcement agencies. This includes providing immediate assistance, assessing the situation, and coordinating appropriate resources to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected. Maintains and cultivates professional relationships with community agencies and attends community meetings to foster collaboration. Participates in outreach activities and agency awareness events to promote services and increase community engagement. Ensures all activities and services comply with relevant laws, regulations and Agency policies. Covers a 24-hour hotline for approximately four weeks per year offering immediate support and guidance to individuals in crisis.

COMPENSATION 37.5
hours per week, Generally weekdays 8:30am-4:30pm with variations based on clients needs. Some evening and weekends may be required. $23 per hour plus a generous benefits package including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and 401(3)b retirement plan.
