ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

The Bilingual Crisis Intervention Advocate position is responsible for making the first contact with victims, survivors, and the general public regarding La Luz Bilingual Victims Services. Crisis Intervention:

the Bilingual Crisis Intervention Advocate will offer Safety Planning, Assessments, Court Advocacy, Follow up, Education on Victim Rights Education and Community outreach. Responsibilities To provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services for Hispanic victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and stalking. Educate clients on Domestic Violence, Sexual assault and stalking Work with victims and clients by phone, in face-to-face meetings, or in hospital and court settings. Carrying out assessments, referrals and follow ups. Develop individualized safety plan. Provide Education on victims' rights, Protection Orders, victims compensation and VINE. Some Interpretation assistance Provide emergency transportation, when safe to do so and resources are available. Linkage and advocacy with the local school system to provide for educational needs Maintain case load updates, quarterly reports and client contact. Maintaining client confidentiality at all times Participate in the crisis line on-call rotation schedule. Improving access to resources by providing Spanish services and referrals. Includes developing and maintaining community resources in Spanish services. Will attend weekly/biweekly/monthly staff meetings and case consultations. Work closely with collaborating partners Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Encourage our faith based services to ALL clients Prayer (If needed and if able Not mandatory ) Development Completing necessary training and maintaining professional development Public Relations Promote La Luz mission, services and initiatives through managing proactive and reactive public relations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be bilingual, good oral and written skills in both English and Spanish Familiarity with criminal justice system Must be able to work well under pressure Must be able to Problem solve Must work well with others Empathy Active listening Communication Adaptability Resourcefulness Positive attitude Ability to work a flexible schedule Computer literate, with working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of the OKC Hispanic community, culture and dynamics

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred experience: Associate's Degree. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred. 1-2 years of experience working with Social Services or related field preferred •Must be fluent in Spanish and English•

Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
