B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has a Protective Service Worker opening out of our Montrose, PA office. This is a full-time position (40 hrs. a week; Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm) with benefits including health insurance, paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday, personal) and 401(k) with agency contribution after one year of employment. B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging is seeking a dedicated Protective Service Worker to investigate reports of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and self-neglect involving adults 60 years and older. This role involves fieldwork, crisis response, and coordinating services to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable older adults. You will conduct visits in the community, which include homes, hospitals, and long-term care facilities; assess capacity and functional abilities; engage in difficult conversations with consumers and involved parties; and maintain accurate, timely documentation. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation, with occasional work outside normal business hours. We are looking for someone who is a strong advocate for older adults, able to balance objectivity and empathy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail are essential. Advanced computer and documentation skills are required. Travel throughout the agency's service area is expected. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Applicants must have a reliable vehicle (when an agency vehicle is not available), valid car insurance, valid car registration, and a valid driver's license A state police criminal clearance, child abuse clearance, and (if needed) FBI clearance are required. These will be obtained at no cost to the selected candidate.
Minimum qualifications:
