For over 35 years, our mission has been to help individuals attain treatment and recovery from addiction as an alternative to incarceration. Our Certified Recovery Specialists help individuals overcome the barriers commonly found in the early stages of addiction recovery. We are currently seeking additions to our team of Certified Recovery Specialists to support Treatment Court participants living at the Specialty Court Recovery Housing program at the Reading YMCA. The ideal candidates have prior experience working with persons with substance use disorders and know how to help individuals create and follow recovery plans. We need help on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including on weekends and holidays, with additional weekday shifts available at times. Pay differential included!
YOU MUST BE A PERSON IN RECOVERY FROM A SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS POSITION.
Preferred candidates have attained the CRS certification.

Responsibilities:
Provides peer-to-peer recovery support services to residents of the Specialty Court Recovery House Program. Facilitates daily recovery-oriented group sessions with house residents. Meets regularly with the Specialty Court Recovery House program director and intensive case manager to ensure continuity of care and program compliance with each resident. May collect random urine specimens, conduct room searches, provide access to medications, and facilitate group educational sessions at the Specialty Court Recovery House as needed. Maintains strict adherence to confidentiality requirements and ethical standards during interactions with clients, family members, referral sources, etc. Enters case notes in the online documentation system within 24 hours of resident interaction. Monitors the comings and goings of all residents using the Sign Out log book.
Qualifications:
Experience in providing peer-to-peer recovery support services, ideally within a non-profit setting. Ability to facilitate engaging and supportive recovery-oriented group sessions. Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in all interactions. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with program directors and case managers. Competence in documenting case notes promptly and accurately within online systems. Ability to conduct room searches and collect specimens while maintaining respect and dignity for residents. Experience in monitoring resident activities and ensuring compliance with program guidelines using log books or similar tools. About Company TASC is a licensed drug and alcohol intake and referral agency serving uninsured and Medicaid-funded individuals in Berks County through DDAP and COCA. It provides clinical assessments and coordinates funding and placement across all levels of care, including detox, outpatient, and residential treatment. TASC also operates Awaken, a mental health case management program for adults with serious mental illness, helping clients access medical, social, and educational services to support stability and independence. Awaken follows OMHSAS and CCBH standards and emphasizes person‑centered, recovery‑focused care. With over 60 staff, TASC assists thousands each year through assessment, linkage, advocacy, and support for those affected by substance use and mental health conditions.
