Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Mentor to join our Adoption Promotion and Support Services team. The Mentor will partner with pre- or post-adoptive clients and parents to offer encouragement and support before, during and/or after the adoption process. This position requires a commitment to fostering positive relationships, promoting personal growth, and ensuring the well-being of those in our care.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to and attend to details of crisis situations which may arise during work (and non-work hours, if appropriate). Conduct Intake Assessments to obtain information necessary to determine which services are appropriate and available to address the family's needs. Develop, in partnership with the family, a written Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Supervise the implementation, progress, and completion of the ISP. Monitor engagement and utilization of linkage services and assess for appropriateness. Ensure linkage referral is complete and able to be accessed by client. Complete required reports that communicate quality treatment services, such as quarterly reports, special incident reports and completion/termination summary reports and linkage forms. Complete monthly progress notes and activity logs and submit to Director on a timely basis.
Required Qualifications:
MUST have had personal experience being adopted OR adopting a child through the dependency system. For adoptees, if experience is residing in foster care without the outcome of adoption, must have resided in the foster care system for at least three years and have had a positive experience of/with adoption. Must demonstrate ability to manage impact of personal adoption narrative as to allow healthy and helpful support to assigned clients. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Comfortable driving long distances at times (within LA County) Comfortable speaking on the phone with coworkers, supervisors, and clients/family of clients. Obtain Negative Mantoux PPD Test/chest x-ray not more than one year prior to commencing work. Must have CPR and First Aid certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment. Must have and maintain a valid California Driver License and clean driving record in accordance with Olive Crest's auto insurance policy. Must have a philosophy of support for abused children in line with values, mission and treatment philosophy of Olive Crest.

$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
