FATE SOAR
(Survivors of Abuse in Recovery) is a Delaware-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has provided trauma-informed services since 1992. This summer SOAR is entering into a merger with the community-based organization FATE (Fighting Abuse Through Education), whose mission is to prevent child abuse by providing education and resources cultivated for children, parents, and decision makers within the family court system — filling a vital gap in Delaware's domestic violence and abuse prevention ecosystem. In 2024, FATE launched the Protective Parent Support Network, which provides resources and advocacy to protective parents — those who seek to reduce harm for children exposed to family violence as they navigate significant obstacles in family court. Our strategy to stop child abuse from occurring or recurring relies on four core tactics: Personalized 1:1 case management support Connection to vetted experts, including attorneys, therapists, and child psychologists, to help parents achieve court outcomes in their children's best interest Access to expert advice and Family Court System navigation support SOAR/FATE's Protective Parent Support Program is filling a critical need for preventative programming that provides advocacy, resources, and tools to prevent abuse from occurring or reoccurring. Together, we are building the foundation for safer futures for families across our community.
