We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Study Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to Extra Special Parents in the licensure of foster parent candidates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, or related fields, with a passion for advocating for working with people. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize the CRM (HubSpot) to document calls, emails, and tasks associated with potential foster families. Contact with the family needs to occur within 24 hours of assignment. This should include a plan/schedule to set up all 3 visits. All home study visits need to occur within 30 days of assignment. Conduct thorough assessments and inspections of all potential homes. Upon completion of the final visit, the home study report will be submitted for edits within 7 calendar days. Utilize Extended Reach to complete the Mutual Family Assessment. The hours associated with calls, emails, travel, visits, and writing of the home study will be documented via iSolved by clocking in/out. The total time per visit should not exceed four hours, including drive time unless it has been approved by the director. All hours will be reviewed by the Lead/Director. Communicates orally and in writing with the Lead and Director regarding areas of concern or potential problems. When conducting business, abide by the transportation minimum driver guidelines of the company . Ensures the safety of children through the proper use of car seats and seat belts and following all traffic laws. Attends program meetings, including but not limited to, weekly team meetings, department team meetings, and any others as required once per month. Report any ethical and legal violations to the supervisor.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model. Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care. Knowledge of transportation and child safety-seat laws. Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; set priorities; and deal with difficult individuals. Ability to observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions and progress. Ability to read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, objectives, and standards. Ability to carry out assigned work and to develop effective work methods in accordance with established procedures to meet all required timeframes and deadlines. Ability to work effectively with facility staff, families and clients served. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain and establish records and files. Ability to work with a variety of behaviors. Ability to perform appropriate crisis intervention, Ability to transport clients safely to and from their destination. Ability to complete pre-service and annual in-service CPR and first aid certification training and all other training required by licensing standards, company policy and procedures, and locality contracts. Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE A
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or a directly related Human service field degree from an accredited college is required. At least 2 years of case management experience are required. At least one year's experience with home study development is preferred.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of age or older. This position will be required to possess a driver's license valid in the state where the work site is located as the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position. The hourly rate range listed reflects what Extra Special Parents reasonably expects to offer for this role, based on the candidate's location and relevant skills and experience.
