Hotline Advocate 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 150 North Main Street, Bishop, CA 93514 Hybrid work $25.00 - $28.74 an hour - Full-time Wild Iris Family Counseling and Crisis Center 4 reviews $25.00 - $28.74 an hour - Full-time Provides crisis intervention services during and outside of regular office hours to clients who have been affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. May work from home if scheduled outside of normal office hours. This is not a mandated reporting position. Reports to DV/SA Programs Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Required:
BILINGUAL/BILITERATE IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH
High School diploma or equivalency. Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Required to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends. Ability to use a computer and proficiency with Office 365 and learn industry specific software. Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision in both individual and team settings. Knowledge of professional office practices including proper conduct and dress. Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment Ability to work well under pressure and deal appropriately with crisis and stress situations. Willing to undergo to a live scan background check.
Preferred:
At least one year of experience with a similar agency. At least one year of experience performing similar or transferable duties. Completion of the Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor training pursuant to California Evidence Code, Article 8.7, Section 1037.1
Essential Job Duties:
Respond to walk in clients or hotline phone calls needing immediate assistance with issues relating to domestic violence and sexual assault. Provide crisis intervention services for persons directly or indirectly experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault. Respond to hospital and law enforcement calls to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Provide Emergency Protective Order (EPO) and Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) assistance in Inyo and Mono Counties. Available to work after-hours shifts on 24-hour crisis line. Collaborate with referral agencies and provide professional training. Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor certified pursuant to California Evidence Code, Article 8.7, Section 1037.1; participate in ongoing training to maintain certification. This training is provided by Wild Iris. Provide culturally sensitive services and work with representatives of under-served communities in our service area. Provide Safe Haven services and other emergency support to survivors. Maintain accurate client records, documentation, data collection, and completion of reports and forms as outlined in grant requirements and Agency policy. Complete all documentation required by law, grantors, and agency policies. Provide office coverage as needed at offices in Inyo and Mono Counties. Maintain accurate time keeping records in accordance with state and federal labor laws. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the agency including representing the agency in a professional manner and maintaining the highest standard of confidentiality. Participate in community outreach and education events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other:
Required to work some weekend, evening, night, and holiday hours. Possible Call-back. Should be available to fill in for all shifts within the agency for vacations, illnesses, etc. plus crisis situations.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.74 per hour
