Responsibilities:
The selected candidate mustpossessa current Registered Sanitarian credential and willbe responsible forconducting food establishment inspections, childcare facility inspections, foster home inspections, and mobile food unit inspectionsin accordance withapplicable regulations and departmental standards. The position will also investigate complaints involving mobile food vendors, which may require after-hours and weekend response as operational needs dictate. Additionally, the candidate willbe responsible forcompleting all inspection activities, documentation, and reports through the Divisions electronic database, HS Gov Tech, while ensuringtimely,accurate, and complete record keeping.
Education and Experience:
Must be equivalent to a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Biology, Environmental Science, Community Health, or in a job-related field of study. One (1) year of work-related experience.

Bilingual candidate is preferredbut not essential.
Requirements:
Must be a registered professional sanitarian or become registered within six (6) months from the date of employment. Knowledge of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, andestablishand maintain effective working relationships with employees,departmentsand thegeneralpublic. Must be knowledgeable of health and biological principles and procedures. Mustpossessa valid Texas drivers license, witha good drivingrecord and reliable transportation. Must pass an extensive background investigation
