Hospital Advocate The Women's Center is seeking a full-time Evening Hospital Advocate to provide crisis intervention and case management support to primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault and abuse and other violent crimes onsite at John Peter Smith Hospital from 3 pm to 2 am, Monday through Saturday. This position works four, 10-hour days and will have either Monday or Friday off each week, depending on the rotation and agency meeting schedule. The Hospital Advocate will work in a client-driven process to: Provide immediate support and crisis intervention to survivors of sexual assault/abuse and other victims of violent crime onsite at the hospital facility Provide assessment, screening, and case management services for sexual assault/abuse and violent crime hospital patients Serve as agency support staff to the hospital in order to develop relationships for the benefit of clients Maintain data for funding and business purposes Develop a comprehensive action plan with established goals to assist in resolving the client's social needs and/or problems Provide follow-up support (when appropriate) for clients in order to assure problem resolution Provide accompaniment services to clients for sexual assault examinations Keep hospital inventory stocked with needed Crisis supplies for patients Prepare and maintain confidential and accurate client assessment, progress notes, case evaluation and case plans in accordance with program and grant requirements

Strong Candidate Criteria:

Spanish-speaking bilingual candidate preferred Maintain confidentiality of all Women's Center information Ability to withstand the moderate stress of varying schedules, meetings and activities, and a busy demanding work environment within area hospitals Ability to write reports and business correspondence Ability to work reliably and independently offsite Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, managers, coworkers, and community partners Must have access to regular and reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and be prepared to drive own vehicle on Center business as requested

Position Requirements:

Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university LMSW licensure by the state of Texas One year of experience in crisis intervention or case management Hospital setting immunizations required (to be provided upon employment), including: o Influenza (annually) o Hep B, MMR and Varicella Titers o Tdap (every ten years) o TB requirements (Q-Gold testing) Completion of the Rape Crisis and Victim Services 40-hour training certified by the Office of the Attorney General (to be provided upon employment), Knowledge of crisis intervention theory and techniques General knowledge of sexual assault and abuse E-mail resume and cover letter to: advocate@womenscentertc.org
