Medication Assistance Caseworker To perform responsible functions related to the procurement and tracking of free medications for qualifying patients. This is a grant-funded position with specific, established goals that are expected to be met within the designated grant period. Meeting these goals is an essential responsibility of the position and will be considered as part of the overall evaluation of performance.
Responsibilities:
Obtain medicines from the pharmaceutical companies utilizing a software program to collect and enter data and generate applications. Determine eligibility of client by screening for household income and obtaining proof of income to be submitted with applications. Communicate with provider and clinical staff to determine the most appropriate source for free or low-cost medicines and obtain provider signature on the application. Send completed application to pharmaceutical companies and log in meds when received. Notify patients of medication availability. Promote the MAP through internal and external marketing and outreach. Assist patients with applying for Cardinal Care (Medicaid) and Virginia's Insurance Marketplace applications Demonstrates initiative and ability to function independently. Able to type a minimum of 40 wpm. Has excellent interpersonal communication skills Is detail oriented High school graduate Proficiency in computer operation of Windows and Word Pharmacy experience preferred but not required Medical office background desirable Marketing or outreach experience desirable Pay is based on education and experience Pay range: $16 - $20/hour
