Job Description
Job purpose
Basic Functions:
1. Provide companion and support services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence, ages 11 years and older. 2. Provide emotional support and education to non-offending caregivers of child sexual assault victims Duties and responsibilities 1. Be available to be "on call" during assigned weekend, holiday, or after regular business hours on a rotating basis 2. Attend and participate in trainings for sexual/domestic violence issues 3. Be an advocate and companion, as requested, to survivors of sexual assault/domestic violence at the hospital or police department when necessary 4. Be an advocate and support to non-offending caregivers of children who have been sexually assaulted at the hospital or police department when necessary 5. Attend and participate in monthly volunteer meetings 6. Record and report to program staff all data regarding client calls and companion services 7. Commitment to confidentiality of all survivor information 8. Provide public education through speaking engagements, public relations, and awareness programs to the community, as available 9. Other duties as assigned by the SV Program Coordinator or Executive Director Qualifications A sincere commitment to help survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Ability to respond well in a crisis situation. Dependability and good communication skills. Completion of agency-sponsored 32-hour crisis intervention companion training.

Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, and allied professionals without conflict. Must be able to confidently interact with other professionals within and outside of the organization. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Supports fundraising events. Must exhibit exceptional communication skills and telephone etiquette. Must be articulate and organized. Physical requirements

Pay:
$40.00 - $300.00 per week
