Previous experience with a shelter, knowledge about domestic and sexual abuse, and previous experience engaging in trauma informed care required.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is full-time and benefit eligible. This position performs a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to supervising a shelter staff of approximately a dozen, crisis calls, and advocacy and support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or human trafficking, and their children.WORK HOURS
We are seeking an individual to manage our shelter and shelter staff in-person.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in social work, related field or equivalent preferred. Previous experience with a shelter, knowledge about domestic and sexual abuse, and previous experience engaging in trauma informed care required. Knowledge of other housing programs, especially about services available to victims in and around Kenosha County, WI preferred.PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and organizational skills; cultural competence and ability to interact with various publics; excellent interpersonal skills; must demonstrate professionalism with sound judgment and a high degree of responsibility, particularly as it relates to confidentiality ; must be willing and able to assist staff working in a 24/7 operation, which generally means being able to take emergency calls if/as needed. Reliable automobile with insurance and valid driver's license required.Job Type:
