Job Description

Have a positive impact in the lives of older adults by joining Aster Aging! We're currently seeking a compassionate and organized Senior Center Manager to lead the daily operations at our Senior Center, located in Downtown Mesa. This role involves developing and managing programs that promote socialization, education, health and wellness for older adults with a focus on empowerment to promote independence. The position involves overseeing volunteer engagement and promoting programs in the community as well as directly providing congregate meals at the center. The right candidate must posses a strong ability to demonstrate teamwork and collaborate with staff, volunteers, program participants and the community. As a small nonprofit team we all must work together to make a difference in the lives of seniors. Each day is as exciting as the next. Build relationships with not only the participants and volunteers that attend the center daily but make connections within the community to better serve older adults. Aster Aging, Inc. empowers and supports older adults and their families to remain independent and engaged in our communities. Our non-profit organization provides a full continuum of service, with core programs that include: Center-Based Services, Meals on Wheels, In-Home Support, Outreach / Social Services, and Collaborative Programs. Our vision is to be a leader in providing direct services and mobilizing resources that support the changing needs of our older adult population. Full-time (40 hours / week) position Competitive salary and benefits package Qualifications include: Progressively responsible recreation or social service work history with older adults including supervisory experience. Nonprofit and volunteer engagement experience preferred. A bachelor's degree in social work, gerontology, recreation or a closely related field preferred, or a minimum of two years' experience working with at-risk older adults and their families.
Requirements include:
an Arizona driver's license, reliable vehicle to use in the performance of the job, and compliance with Aster Aging's background checks. This position includes physical capability requirements.
